Is it possible to add a 3rd ATA Hard Drive in a Quicksilver 867? Can I use the IDE cable reserved for an internal ZIP (which I don't have)? Or is it absolutely necessary to buy an additional ATA controller?
Has anyone mounted a HD in the ZIP drive bay (2nd bay). This would eliminate cable length problems (I think)
Many thanks for any help, Bill M
Bill,
I did this last year and I do *not* recommend it. My QS case had three ATA bays on the bottom and it is much cheaper to buy a longer IDE cable than it is worth the pain on doing the mod I did to get that to work right. -- Ryan Coleman System Administrator LEMLists.com
