Happy Juneteenth, all! I have recently acquired a beige G3 tower, 266MHz upgraded to 366MHz. The first thing I've done to make it suitable for me was to reinitialize the ATA startup drive in order to lose Jaguar; I prefer Classic OS.
That done, I see that the machine doesn't like to boot from the SCSI drive. So, how do I conform to its need for a startup system on the ATA drive? Right now, I don't detect the ATA with any of my disk utilities, even though I know it's in there and properly connected. Should I run my OS 8.5 installer, nuke every hard drive on every bus in sight, and hope for the best? Or is there a better way to get there? -- Michael -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
