Thanks for your suggestion. I will have to try that someday.
In the meantime, a friend who works at Tech Support for Apple came over
last night and held my hand while I ran the OS 8.5 installer on the box
-- with success. I believe that version contains Drive Setup 1.6 or so.
In any case, in my experience, it's all in the hands holding. ;-)
