I've got several burners SCSI, USB, IDE, internal, and external. It's puzzling, but
I've never had the problems with CD-R media of any brand that a lot of folks have had.
For a long time I've been using a brand called Great Quality that Fry's sells.

The last spindle of 50 that I bought was 48X and cost $7.00. I usually burn at the
maximum speed of what ever CDRW I'm using at the time. That's usually 16X on the
Cendyne in the Beige. I use these for data, music, vcd, and svcd. They almost always
work fine in stereos, dvd players (that support the codecs), and other computers.
