I'm not sure either. I've installed 10.2 on six beige's so far without much trouble. Well, I'll take that back...I had some trouble on the first one because I'd bought a 160Gig drive from CompUSA on sale and had to get my education on beige not supporting greater than 137Gigs...after that, when I went back and got a 120Gig drive and partitioned it 7.4Gigs all went smoothly. The rest of 'em went smooth as silk. But I don't have any aftermarket PCI cards and did clean/erase installs from retail 10.2 discs without classic; maybe that's the key. I did install 10.2 on a B&W 400 on top of 9.2.2 without any trouble, but haven't attempted it on a beige, only because I don't have any need for the classic environment for my uses.

I guess I just must be incredibly lucky because I installed OS X on a
Beige G3 desktop without a hitch. I'm kind of curious about the types of
problems people are having.
