Since it has been such a topic I thought I would share some findings on OSX on G3 (Beige) Installs.

First I have 20 Beige G3's from a recycler to be used in web, database and DNS service. They are great boxes for that. I have quite a few up already in these services.

The info-

On Rev2 and Rev3 models anything higher than a 10.2.0 *installer* will not work. I get crashes and video strangeness.

I have tried my 10.2.3 install disks and failed every time. Going back to my 10.2.0 disks gives me clean install every time.

I *can* patch a 10.2.0 install to 10.2.6 without issue it is just the installer that will not work.

I wonder if the same is true of Panther. I know the tales of no support for the G3's. I can test that with some of these builds but there is no assurance that the betas in developers hands now will be the installer that is released- naturally.

But this installer thing makes me wonder about an upgrade version?
