Actually, this is the only way it happens that I CAN boot into nine on the separate volume. The problem is when I want to boot into 8 from 10, I first have to do that procedure, the boot into 8 from 9. It's just laborious and I'm confused as to why it must happen this way. And I'm compulsive enough to not give up until I find a solution!!

I've had something similar happen to me b4 and the other OSes were greyed
out in Jag. It, for some reason, could not recognize the Systems folder so
I had to reinstall 9 and that worked. I had 9 and Jag on different hard
drives.
