I have a G4 iMac with cd-r/rw drive.
98% of the time I use Toast to burn, but today I used the Finder.
In the "Burn" dialog box it only allowed "maximum" speed with all the other speeds greyed-out including 1x. I continued with this setting.
Subsequently the burn completed but then failed verification, and would not mount on the desktop.
How can I convince Finder to burn at a speed other than "maximum"?
thanks
[I checked: Toast and iTunes allow several different speeds]
<sigh> when you find a solution, let me know...I've not been able to figure this out.
It is, btw, something that ONLY the Finder does. You can use Disk Copy to burn disk images and select the speed, you can select the speed when using iTunes, it's just burning CD's in the finder that cause the problem.
