We don't quite do the same thing but we do some serious logging on our side. All users allowed by three things: Username, [EMAIL PROTECTED] and [EMAIL PROTECTED] For the few users that have oddball ISPs we have their DHCP IPs not have a resolving DNS entry. Now, that's for everyone else but me. For me to be able to send email I have to enter the IP address of whereever I am from.
For the person the responded about not getting any Spam on their .Mac account: You're lucky. Very very lucky. I have thought of talking Dan into cancelling his because spam on my server get's redflagged and .Mac doesn't even notice it. Plus I have the AntiVirus software going on my box that I haven't seen running in .Mac ----- Original Message ----- From: "Michelle Klein-Hass" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "G-List" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, August 13, 2003 10:27 AM Subject: Re: No more M$ > Also, some SMTP servers check the originating IP to guard against using the > server as a spam relay.
