This is true, but so far, it is the best web-based email program that I
have
used and I can get to it either from work or school or home. Email
programs
that are locked to one machine are very limited as to when the email can
be
checked. Also hotmail is free.

I don't know of any service your describe that locks you to one computer. We
don't do that at LowEndMac (but then again right now I am trying to get a
better program to work).


I think the point was that few services use IMAP, which means to use it on multiple machines (and see all your email on both) you have to set it to leave messages on the server. Since most people won't understand this right away, they feel "locked" to one computer. I certainly don't think he was trying to suggest that the service itself locks you in.
