A LOT sad, really. Our campus' Info. Services Dept. is firmly entrenched in
the MS/lemming/brainwashed approach to software solutions, this in spite of
the pro-Mac stance that the Music, Fine Arts, Journalism, etc. Depts. have
adopted. Hardly a day goes by when I don't have some sort of spat w/ them,
or just sigh and shake my head.

What MS did to U of Wisconsis is out and out fascist, and I'm glad they took
a stance (of sorts) and didn't pony up the ransom money - I'm under the
impression that I.U. (being the first school) was savvy enough (or caught MS
off-guard as they were in uncharted waters) to negotiate a lasting contract,
as I've not heard of any renewals, and yet the program still stands - thet
also made it a point, a very telling point, that

Macintosh was and was to be included at all times.
Does Pres. Bush endorse this apparent resurgance of MS oligarchy? I doubt
he's even aware - ironically, I've seen at least three Apple hard copy
advertisements stating that the Mac was both Pres. Clinton's AND Pres.
Bush's favorite computer - go figure!

Enough! My temperature's rising ;-)
Best regards,
Dana
