Sounds like you need more memory; it really makes a lot of difference. I don't notice 10.2.6 being slow on a 233, doing the things I do...Mail, Safari, iTunes...but I admit I use a 466 ibook most of the time.

And the "Junk" routine gradually learns....

I personally like the Mail program too. I just wish "JUNK" wasn't so quick to jump all over my regular mail.
