Seems like kind of a waste of such kickass hardware, but that's just me.
A long time ago I wrote to Cassady & Greene and told them that if they could come up with a $400 piece of hardware to run Soundjam, they would make a mint. That's what Apple did and they made a mint.
Just because the iPod is portable doesn't mean you shouldn't hook it up to a stereo. The fact is that there really isn't anything else to do this for the price. Other bulkier stuff still doesn't have the great software.
My daughter has the iPod. As far as I can tell from looking at her, it has no automatic sleep mode. (She hasn't heard anyone speak to her since she got it.)
