I hate to contradict anybody, but, I do not believe that using a facial tissue to clean off a print head is very practical. I would recommend a cotton swab and methyl hydrate (gas line antifreeze) as it evaporates quickly after you clean the cartridge.
If you do less printing, get a HP. The HP cartridges come with a
new printhed (nozzles) attached to every cartridge.
This makes it easy to deal with clogged nozzles: wipe the printhead gently with a kleenex.
If this is not successful, put in a new cartridge.
Personally, I have found Epson printers to be very reliable and economical. (I own 4, 3 of which are in use, and 1 is still new in box. I owned an HP Deskwriter 550C and vowed never to buy another.
I'd like to know if anyone has used the new Okidata color laser printers that have recently been available? Price is certainly right at $1000-$1500 (Canadian $) for 2 of their models.
