I'll give this one a shot. DVD-RAM, and DVD-R are two different formats. RAM is older and on its way out. It's rewriteable, and in it's own case like a zip disk. DVD-R is like a regular cd-r, only writable once, and is still "in" to my knowledge. DVD-RW is the rewritable version of this. DVD+R or +RW are similar to these last two, but formatted slightly differently...I THINK...??
