USB 2.0 is not just a matter of software drivers. The machine has to be equipped with a 2.0 capable port.

The question I had was: If you were to plug a USB 2.0 device into a 1.1 port, would it work? I believe it will, but have no devices to test.

My Acard usb/firewire pci card is usb 2 and they supply a usb 2 driver for osX.
There is no driver for os9, but its the os, not the processor that determines
whether you can use 2, apparently.

I have not actually tried usb2, though I have a firewire/usb2 enclosure. I
guess I should.
