Sure

I had no idea what to do with the damn dead G4 we had so I took it to the
local Apple Dealer, their guys are all certified apple technicians, and one
of them told me. Maybe this just applies to the latest motherboards. Maybe
it's a crock of [EMAIL PROTECTED] 

Mind you saying that I had a G4 server in for repair and they told me that
the "server" bits of the mobo were broken and that's why I couldn't run any
server software on it. Although when I took the 3rd party Cards out and
rebooted everything installed fine. Dead SCSI card was the problem there but
they never picked up on it. 

I suppose "courses courses courses" doesn't always supplant "experience
experience experience"

The moral of this tale is - Beware Apple Certified Technicians they are
almost as bad as MSCE's

Could you post where you got this info ? Have never heard of this. I 
have had at least one of every mac up to this one ( Presently using,  
MDDP 1.25  / 1 GB RAM / 160 GB HD, 17 " Ti 1 GB Ram / 60 GB HD, BGE 
400/ 768 Ram 60 & 40 GB HD ) I  Have pressed the CUDA button at least 
10 times consecutively on all of them numerous times and have NEVER 
smoked a MOBO yet.
