Sure I had no idea what to do with the damn dead G4 we had so I took it to the local Apple Dealer, their guys are all certified apple technicians, and one of them told me. Maybe this just applies to the latest motherboards. Maybe it's a crock of [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Mind you saying that I had a G4 server in for repair and they told me that the "server" bits of the mobo were broken and that's why I couldn't run any server software on it. Although when I took the 3rd party Cards out and rebooted everything installed fine. Dead SCSI card was the problem there but they never picked up on it. I suppose "courses courses courses" doesn't always supplant "experience experience experience" ;o) The moral of this tale is - Beware Apple Certified Technicians they are almost as bad as MSCE's Sean DZineGuru -----Original Message----- From: Andrew J.
