Hi

Somebody mentioned the logic board reset switch, this could be the thing
your looking for, we recently had the same scenario with a machine here
after a mandatory electrical test. 
 
the button your looking for to reset the Macs Logic board should be near the
Battery and look like a little shiney silver button about 4 millimeters in
diameter.
 
Take great care. Pressing this once will reset the machine to its factory
defaults, pressing it twice without powering back up will toast your Logic
board.
