Hi Somebody mentioned the logic board reset switch, this could be the thing your looking for, we recently had the same scenario with a machine here after a mandatory electrical test. the button your looking for to reset the Macs Logic board should be near the Battery and look like a little shiney silver button about 4 millimeters in diameter. Take great care. Pressing this once will reset the machine to its factory defaults, pressing it twice without powering back up will toast your Logic board. Hope this info hasn't reached you too late.
