My daughter's G4/400 no longer powers on. Does anyone have any ideas? Are there fuses in the power supply. I have worked on lots of PCs before, but this would be the first on a mac. Any help would be appreciated as I cannot afford to take it to someone else..

Depending on the G4 you have, there is a power management reset "button" that had me stumped for a while. It "trips" whenever the G4 is not shut down properly- ie. if the power goes out or someone yanks the cord out of the wall. Pop the case and look for a button labeled "PMU" or something like that. Push it, close the case, and try powering up.

good luck
