You won't be able to use the power key (if it has one) on the keyboard to boot the Beige as the USB drivers don't load until sometime later in the startup process. The "c" key will not boot the machine from a CD for the same reason. Also, (lots of exceptions here, aren't there?) you can't get to open firmware with a USB keyboard on a Beige. All of these, however, remain available with an ADB keyboard (the one that came with your Beige). Most of the Apple ADB keyboards are very good. Why would you want to stop using yours? Is it broken? Of course, you can use the power button on the front of the computer to boot. John

G'day Sodium.

I've got a usb card and wireless Logitech mouse hooked up to my Beige G3. You have to install the drivers, but it works fine under 9 & X. No default needed. I still have the original mouse hooked up, and they can both work together if needed. The old mouse is sometimes useful for fine movement work, such as photoshop. It's also required for use when booted from a CD, as then the drivers aren't installed, and the wireless mouse no workee. Presumably a usb keyboard may be the same.
