J --- end of quote --- I haven't heard anyone confirm this so I'll try it tonight. I have a firewire/usb2 drive and compatible board. I tried usb 2 when both were new, but the card driver didn't work. Smart Card which makes the board, has since revised the driver and says it works. (in X only.) usb2 is supposed to be marginally faster than Firewire, though I have no way to measure, though it will be easy to tell if it is faster than usb 1. I'll report back tonight.
