Thank you guys for your info, Earlier on I got the advise to do a clean install of the OS, my mistake in writing, I didn't reinstall, I installed new . I tried zapping the PRAM on boot up, it didn't change anything. Had a 6200, it started up fast, have still a 6500, the startup is fast. Also when I got this G3, it started up much faster. When the extensions coming up to load, they loaded on my old machines many at once, on the G3 they loading one by one in slow motion. When I launch an applications, first the name of the application comes up on top of the screen and it needs some time before the window of this application comes up to load, later work on any application looks like normal speed. Finder? With this machine I got a 3 gig HD, I can hear how it reads and writes, clicking, slow and sometimes faster, is it possible that this SCSI HD is slow and near to death? Will try the advise of Bobby. Any advise is welcome. Franz Bangkok -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
