Upon booting, the words "can't OPEN:" appear on a white screen, usually it would continue to boot into OS X
I didn't think much of it, thought when I replaced the hard drive it would go away *maybe.
I bought a maxtor LCT series 40gb hard drive to put in this G3.
After getting the jumpers set correctly, I partitioned the first 7.5gb of the drive to put OS X on. Loaded the first CD normally, got to the must restart screen, the restart began, but just goes in to an infinite restarting cycle.
When I try to boot from the old hard drive (with a working 10.2.6or8 system on it) I get a circle with a slash through it!!! I have never seen this before!
I have put more ram in... 576mb zif processor 350 clocked to a stable 433
Please if anyone has any input, let me know!!!
Thanks, Pat
