I agree that the prices are too high for the cards right now, however, I just sold 2 new maxtor cards for $27 each on eBay. Like all other PC cards, however, my reading on the net is that these cards work in less than 50% of the machines they are put in. You know what they say: "When you spend too much money, you waste a little, when you spend too little money, you waste it all."

If you really want more drives, pull out your cd drive and you now have 4 ports. When you are ready to burn something, swap the burner in. Or better yet, get an external firewire box for your burner. I use both of these techniques.
