Well, let's look at it this way. The decoder card is only going to help you if you are playing the dvd on the the display attached to the decoder card. It won't help you play a dvd on the display connected to the 7000. DVD's play absolutely fine on my B&W under X without the decoder card (Radeon Mac Edition 32MB).

If you are using OS X, it won't use the decoder card in any case. Completely ignores it.

On the Blue and White you absolutely need the decoder card, to my knowledge.
I've seen some say that OSX changes that, but given that my Blue and Whites
refuse a load of X past registration, so what?
