I think you really need to think about the fact that you can get a refurbished emac for $700. and then there are the regular G4s which are cheaper than the G5s.
I am a little weirded out by the persistence of high prices for old macs.
I have 2 G3s, but lets face it, they just don't compare to my cube or my ti-book--and not because of the chip--the entire system is slow. For crying out loud, the cube is really, really old. But the disk drives are so much faster--and I'm using the same drives. so the G4 is a lot faster---but the new computers are way faster than those.--particularly with video and networking.
Remember we were all talking about the potential collapse of the G4 prices when the G5s finally hit the market--Well I'm still waiting.
