Shumpgrade path? Not being important? Are you kidding yourself? I for one, was elated that I researched well back in '99 when I bought my G4 from the first pickings and that I DIDN"T go with a PCI graphics version.
As far as I can see(and maybe I'm wrong about this) you can only upgrade the original PCI G4 up to 500MHz which, some readers support is not all that helpful (look at the first author report for non-AGP upgrade for an example on xlr8yourmac.com Now while computer power is continually advance, making performance increasingly cheaper, the peripherals, RAM and your personalized system setup are also time and money factors. I for one, was psyched about the option of being able to bump my 'goode yet olde' 350 MHz G4 up to 1.3Ghz for around $600 at the beginning of the year. I could keep everything else in place (Ram, settings, etc.) and still have the feeling of a 'new to you' computer. If it's just for internet, and typing - fine, go for the PCI. I would't though. Just get the one AGP. JB On 10/11/03 3:27 PM, "Illovox Media" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > He wants both. Upgrade path, smupgrade path. Many of us just use these > machines as is, and that's FINE.
