The modem came w/ one of the DB25 pin male to DB9 pin female (serial)
cables. So I need the 9 pin to mac serial cable to make this work.
Meanwhile someone on the list wrote me that he has the cable I need for $5 +
$4 shipping- so that seems a no-brainer solution.
I was trying out the modem with the cable I had for my other computer's
modem and have had some problems w/ it. However I just took a close look at
the dip switches on it and saw that 2 were set differently (auto answer
on/off, and data terminal ready override/normal) so I changed them to the
auto answer off and data terminal ready override positions. Right now it
seems to be working- if it continues to, then I'll get that cable.
Thanks
    George
