Thanks for the info. I checked out the site and downloaded a demo. My 
scanner is support under the Silverfast Ai version of the software. 
Unfortunately, that s/w is $119 for the full version. Ouch! They have 
an "SE" version of Silverfast for $49, but alas, my scanner model is 
not supported. I'll stick to using my free s/w in classic mode... If 
anyone knows of another reasonably priced alternative I'd be happy to 
hear it.

have scanning software for Umax scanners.  Not too sure if your model 
is supported, but you can always give it a shot.
