Because knowledgeable people have the absolute best of both worlds: hands down the best GUI on the planet *and* a powerful, well-integrated CLI with industrial strength services and applications.
People who just 'want a Mac' have that too, and never have to even think of firing up the Terminal, it works like that, too.
