Other OS X options are:

ATi Rage 128 16MB [OEM or Orion]
ATi Rage 128 32MB [Nexus]
IX Micro TwinTurbo 8MB
IX Micro UltimateREZ 12MB (? Might have only been 8MB ?)

Or the Radeon 7000 PCI you noted.

The ATi cards do the best under OS X. The IX Micro cards are cheap and easy to find but do not do 3D acceleration.

If you use Classic Mac OS then 3dfx Voodoo cards [PCI Voodoo3 3000, Voodoo4, Voodoo5] cards work well also. Drivers can be hard to find but I have them all so if you need em I could hook you up.

What OS are you planning to use? If OS X, I think that's the best (and, perhaps, only) upgrade choice.

Other than a Radeon 7000, what else can I use in my B&W?
