I have two beige G3/266s on which I have installed 10.2.8. When the beige with 576M ram starts up, the screen remains black for almost a minute after the startup chime. When I start up the beige with only 128M of ram, the screen comes on almost immediately.
Is the difference caused by OSX checking the ram at startup? If so, is there a way to turn off the ram check a la OS9? As always, any advice is appreciated.
