The Rage II+DVD GPU is not the same as the DVD decoder card that fits into
the PERCH slot. If you have the DVD decoder in your machine it would have
shipped with a DVD ROM drive and not a CD-ROM. These cards are very
expensive because they have specialised audio as well as video and dvd
decoding.

I put one of these in my Beige MT Rev 1 motherboard and have never gotten the
DVD section or video IN to work. Apparently it needs to see the Rev 3
motherboard video or it is useless. It may also require a specific dvd drive, I
don't know. I think it is true that the video IN on that card quits if it sees
a pci video card in the computer. I spent months trying to figure out how to
make the card work.

I can play dvds on my machine through the Radeon 7000 video board. I also have
a 466 G4 processor. I think you need at least 300 mhz to get the software dvd
decoder to work.

In os 9 I use the hacked dvd software. I n X, the regular dvd player works fine,
though the installer won't install it on a Beige. You have to dig it out of the
installer disk manually.

I keep that DVD perch (wings) card for the improved audio. Everything else is
useless or obsolete. Video out works, but that is available on the Radeon 7000
if I need it.
