Gerthe,

I thought a Zip 250 could read Zip 100 discs? That is, you didn't need to make the replacement, although it lets you move larger chunks of data. I don't have a ready solution, although it's puzzling if it's both ways (that is a disc formatted on either of your two computers cannot be read the other. Can either be read on a third machine?

I know that doesn't help you in your specific problem, and nor will this: Some other options for moving data around would be a flash drive (would require a USB card in your beige), or a network (802-11g wireless cards using the Broadcomm chipset, such as the Linksys card are "plug-n-play" in OSX, and recognised as airport cards, if you can't do wired networking).

Just some thoughts on alternative solutions if you can't fix your problem.

Hi,
I replaced the internal Zip100 with a ZIP250 in my Beige G3/300 so I could transfer data easily to my B&WG3/ 400 which allready has a 250Zip.
Both computers are fine with there own zipdisks but won't accept each others! I checked with Diskutility and erased and reformatted and it's fine on the computer I use for it I but I cannot find a way of creating a zipdisk that is readable on BOTH (either). Diskwarrior couldn't help. Weird! Because both zipdrives work fine where they are. Is this a software problem? I am running MacOs 10.2.8 on both computers.
