I'm running 10.2.6 on my Beige G3 and I often get "java" errors running IE 5. Like for instance I get error messages constantly when trying to use a university MOO (interactive site). When I've asked the tech guy at the university department he says that "Macs can't handle java well" -- I don't know if this is an OS problem or an IE problem or maybe some problem with my machine.

Funny how they must hand out PC tech certificates after a two day class on how PC's are better than Macs!

It's not Macs 'handling' java, it's Microsoft 'handling' java in your case. Of course ignorance speaks easily. I have absolutely NO java problems in Safari. I believe even Netscrape java'd better for me than Exploder did before I went OS X....
