Dan,

I have the same chip upgrade. However, I'm using a stock video card. Might I suggest 
an upgrade to the firmware of the video card? I had to upgrade the firmware on my 
Sonnet ATA controller after putting in the new chip. I can only surmise that your 
issue is a similar issue.
