I know all of them on Windoze, but don't have a clue about Macs. You know,
the keys you push to get a pop-up menu to come up, copy, paste, cut, etc.
And any others that are handy. TIA.

First, make sure you turn on Full Keyboard Access in the Mouse/Keyboard control panel. This will allow you to tab/select/execute almost any widget in the OS and most applications. Second, the command (or Apple) key is basically the mac equiv. of Ctrl. I've not really used the old alt-whatever-letter keystrokes I did in Windows, as I've found using the mouse is much more welcomed and intuitive in the Mac OS's. One suggestion is to get a multi-button mouse. I picked up a 5 button logitech optical at Best Buy for about $25 the other day. Using Logitech's control panel, I have the following functions mapped:

left side "scroll" button: Copy
right side "scroll" button: Cmd-left arrow ("back" in Safari)
left and right are default, center (scroll wheel) is set for Paste
and there's a nifty, pre-set (though configurable) "task switch" button directly below the scroll wheel. It's positioned so that a roll of the knuckle can alt (cmd) - tab thru applications.

This works *very* well for me. You wouldn't believe how much time you save by making such common tasks so easily accessible. Of course, this is possible with other mice on the market, but Logitech's control panel is the closest thing to the (mouse at least) functions of USB Overdrive ($20 shareware).

I've not gotten too far into keyboard shutcuts as I did using Windows. For some reason, the use of a mouse in OS X, IMHO, is more comfortable than it is on my Windows machines.

It must be OS X's ability to leave you alone, though something may be unobtrusively asking for your attention in the background.

Of course, it's all personal opinion.
