I'm getting ready to trade one of my old PC laptops for a Wallstreet 292mhz. My question is I want to run OS X on this. I heard OWC has something I can install and it will allow me run Panther on it. I can't remember how much ram it has, not a whole lot, like 128 maybe. I was going to add some ram to it, at least 512 total.
Will it run OS X OK?
it will run OS X 10.2 just fine. You may need XPostFacto (which you can get at OWC) to install 10.3 on it. I can't remember offhand if it's supported or not.
I plan to upgrade the processor to a G4/500 later.
I've heard many tales of woe about these upgrades; this is a discussion better suited for the G-books list, though.
