I have read a lot of "non-technical responses to this question. The response are based on personal experience & opinions. So I'll toss in my two cents worth. ;-) I have not been impressed by the wireless mice which I think were at one time called optical mice. They work fine if you pont reqirements are not crtical. However if you are using them in CADD and graphic apps where the pointer MUST be right on target such as connecting to an end of a line they are not accurate enough and they can be sluggish. The wireless also are line of sight. I was looking at keyboards & mice last week. Almost bout a combo package til I found out that my keyboard couldn't be on a keyboard tray and my mouse on top of the desk because there was only on receiver. :-( My preference is for the track ball that has 4 programamble buttons. They are easy to keep clean. Just turn upside down & catch the ball. Wipe off the 3 pivot points with a tissue & drop the ball back in and you are ready to go. I use the same type at work in Cadd applications & at home for surfing, etc/. One big bonus is you don't need empty space to to roll around the mouse Compusa had a trackball for $20. The ball is one of the smaller ones. It had 4 buttons that you can click easly and the ball can be operateded with fingers or palm. I had a thumb ball that I retired because of problems with my thumb joint. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
