I have two of the BusLink Firewire/USB2 80GB drives. I occasionally was unable to access the firewire ports, though USB works on both, I returned both drives and the replacements did the same thing. Also when the computer went to sleep with the drives attached they would "disappear" had to restart to get them seen again. This has happened on a Beige G3, a G4 an iBook, and a TiBook. Numerous emails and calls to BusLink tech/customer support lead to no responses or we'll get back to you = nothing.

I finally reinitialized one of the drives and it has worked fine since. So I did the same to the other and it seems to fixed it also, go figure.

Regards,
Mark

I have a friend who bought a BusLink 80gig external drive with USB2, Firewire400 and SATA. The USB2 and SATA work fine but the Firewire port seems to have some sort of termination problem. The FW port does not work at all unless you have another firewire device in the chain.

Does anyone else have information or experience with this type of problem?
