Dana,

To switch to MP3 Encoder for iTunes on the PC follow these steps:

- Open iTunes and go to Edit | Preferences.
- Click on the "Importing" tab.
- Click the down arrow next to AAC and choose MP3 Encoder.
- It defaults to High Quality 160 kbps, which is a good compromise for sound quality vs. file size.
- Click OK.

Now when you import songs it will encode in MP3. To change the format of a song already in your library: highlight it, click the Advanced menu and choose "Covert Selection to MP3."

Hi Folks,
I've been watching this thread. I needed a good audio -> MP3 encoder for my
PC at the office, so I thought I'd try the Windoze version of the latest
iTunes (since I have XP on it) - to my disappointment, this iTunes does not
allow you to convert to MP3 - go figure.
Best regards,
Dana
