First put a CD into the drive on let's say "A" machine. On the "B" machine throw away the "A" machine HD. Go into the chooser and choose the "A" machine again. You will be offered the choice of two drives to load, the HD and the CD. Check them both and click OK. You are now sharing the CD drive.
One more tip a lot of people never discover. You can access everything on the other machine's desktop by opening up the "desktop folder." When opening up the window, you may find that the folders are scrambled. Just go to "View" and go down to "Clean up."
