Yes but it will be just a mounted disk and not for use as a cd-r/rw. Also if you want to change cds you'll have to unmount then remount it.

I just checked it out on my two G3's. First put a CD into the drive on let's
say "A" machine. On the "B" machine throw away the "A" machine HD. Go into
the chooser and choose the "A" machine again. You will be offered the choice
of two drives to load, the HD and the CD. Check them both and click OK. You
are now sharing the CD drive.
