Some programs run just as fast on my old 68 quad as they do on a G4 or G5. If you want to run the latest and greatest software, you need to put it on the latest and greatest hardware. For instance, Photoshop 4 is going to run just about as fast on a 9600 as it does on a G4. But try to run Photoshop 7 on the 9600 and it will really crawl. >
