May be easier just to send it back. Try booting to a CD. On boot up, 
press and hold down the mouse key. If that doesn't work, try booting to 
open firmware (command-option-O-F on boot). Type "eject cd" and press 
return. If the tray opens up, try the CD boot thing. If that is no joy, 
then think about how much time to t.s. vs. just returning it...
