Rather than ask what to do to the Mac I'll ask *you* what you want to do with it. Macs can become very personalized. The personalization is usually a result of folks "filling a gap" in the OEM configuration. Do you want to burn DVDs? Then you'll want a super drive. Is it fast enough for you right now? If not, you'll want a processor upgrade. See?
With my B&W G3 I noticed a slight pause in between switching programs. Most folks wouldn't notice it. It drove me crazy. So I got a G3 900 upgrade. Problem solved. I didn't want to worry about hd space for a while, so I got a 120 GB drive. And, oh yeah, I wanted an internal CD burner that worked with the finder (original optical drive was a 1x DVD-RAM drive) so I got a toshiba burner. See?

Just bought a used AGP G4 and am anxious to see what I can add to the machine and upgrade. Any thoughts of what should be done right off? The machine is 450mhz with 256meg and two HDs (20, and 130). That's all I know. I plan on putting Panther on it and increasing the ram. Should I be doing anything else?
Thanks,
Glenn
