I find your critical tone towards other listmembers disappointing. This is an attitude I'd expect in the windoze forums rather than the family atmosphere I've experienced in most Mac forums - including the short time I've spent here. If you knew the sacrifices my family needs to make for every penny spent on computers, I like to think you would have the class to have kept that last comment to yourself.

IMO, it's fine if Apple wants to move on to newer peripheral support. They need to do that. But intentionally ripping out support for old devices? That's a typical Jobs screw! It's about his arrogance, not about improving technology. It's just as disingenuous as MS putting out bloatware after heavily investing in RAM chip manufacturers. It does nothing but alienate long-time customers - and drive them to the PC market, where older peripherals just work - even on newer hardware.
