<<Friends, Apple continues to bring us into the future. Is it practical
to try to copy files which can often exceed 1.4 megabytes using an
outdated floppy disk? Apple has solved this by equipping all of it's
modern Macs with a CD-RW drive.
The floppy drive is just as much a legacy device as 300 bps modem. >>

The problem, as I see it, is not so much in moving files from our Macs
to another machine, but in moving files from another machine to our
Macs. At work, I have only a floppy drive (on a rather old PC). I have
no burner to transfer files to a CD to carry home with me. (I did
purchase a zip drive on ebay to make this a bit easier--this PC also is
not USB!) I use both my USB floppy drive and my Zip drive at home to
transfer these files. Emailing them does not always work, especially
with larger files.
