Thanks for clarifying again.  I'm disaoppointed that the stuff out there is so
poor.  I guess I've been lucky with the digitizer I bought with a camcorder
attached.  Could have been a lot worse, apparently.  

One option someone mentioned was a real time DVD recorder.  Does anyone know if
these can record in stops and starts or does it have to run continually from
beginning to end.  That is, could you "edit" on them?
Can a DVD be left "open" like a cd-rom?
