Nope, it's gone. You found the solution to the mystery, thank you very
much! Not only was the buzz gone when the video was played through the TV,
but this TV happened to have a VCR built into it too, so I was able to
record the video as well as just listen to it, and the recording has no
buzz either. It's a nice clean recording with good audio as well as good
video. Success!

Therefore the buzz I was hearing in earlier recordings was introduced by
the VCR, a brand-new never-before-used Sony double-deck $175 VCR from Best
Buy, which I am going to return tomorrow. And I hope I can find one of a
better quality or capability somewhere. The TV with the VCR inside it has
no video-out, so I can't use it to send video from VHS tapes into the Mac.
Besides, it's a monstrous thing that at the insistence of my wife and
daughter must be returned to the room I "borrowed" it from when they
weren't looking.

Anyway, problem solved! And I thank you [EMAIL PROTECTED] (whatever your name
really is) for aiming me toward the solution. You're a pal!

Best wishes,

Tom
